Research summary

This study combines all-atom molecular dynamics with circular dichroism and small-angle X-ray scattering to investigate the p53 proline-rich domain. The simulations describe a diverse structural ensemble with persistent local polyproline II features. Accounting for constraints from neighboring domains improves agreement with scattering measurements, while the P72R and P82L variants produce distinct local structural changes.
